breakfast buffet
…something that we all look forward to when we go for a night or so hotel living, or should i say living of reality for a few days. when we get away to unwind a little. when we forget about everything behind to have room service, a nearby pool to wade in and yes…eat all you can breakfast!
…and i love love love this muffin! yummm-eeehhh! i even got another one with blueberries to go! haha!
…we can never have complete breakfast without the scrambles right?
this one’s S’s bagel. definitely with cream cheese.
had to end it all with a bowl or two of fresh fruits! no photo though, sorry..i decided to enjoy the last few bites without the camera getting in the way.:)

this has been part of our weekly ritual…the hubs and myself, that is. more often than not, Saturday mornings are spent in this place while the kids are in their karate class. it’s also the only ‘our-time’…and we make good use of it…

Lasang Pinoy Sundays: Dimsum [freestyle]
…Saturday mornings, more often than not is our ‘you-me-while-the-kids-do-karate’ time as a couple or something like that. our less than an hour gastronomic date. or shall i say, our ONLY date a week if we’re lucky enough. as simple as it is, we definitely love it and always look forward to this ‘luxury’ that we are blessed with.
is a weekly thematic FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY meme, Pinoy style!
If you notice, we are still on freestyle this week as I forgot to post the upcoming themes. My apologies. So I am happy to announce that for next Sunday, our theme is all about…KIDS! so put those thinking caps on and let the child in you reign supreme!!!:)
P.S. future themes will be posted in a few and just to let you know we might be going through past themes now as I am running out of new ones for now. again, if you have any themes in mind, just give me a buzz! and if you want to host that theme or any other Sunday, let me know! Have a great one guys!!!

Lasang Pinoy, Sundays : foodSIGN
This may not be my favorite restaurant especially when i crave for seafood, but it poses to be a most eye-catching FOOD SIGN for a lobster spot, don’t you agree? Needless to say, we lurve LOBSTERS!… who doesn’t really? pardon me, i know i have posted a lot on these crustaceans, mostly home-cooked. still, i opted for this photo on this week’s theme, even if it’s a little noisy. too far and my hands are shaky from starvation! i guess. hee!
…the place is called The Weathervane, located in Kittery, Maine. My choice that day was something out of the ordinary. that would mean, not just steamed or grilled whole or cut in half…but one that looks like a pie. hence, it is called Lobster Pie!:)
…for the price, i must admit it’s not all worth the deviation from the humongous shellfish that i was accustomed to greeting me on my plate. taste-wise…a 6.5. overall…i told myself i can even do this myself! oh well…lesson learned. wicked, yes..if we talk about the come-on signage. cheap? not at all.

Lasang Pinoy, Sundays : Resto-rant
food. service. atmosphere. price. accessibility. these are just a few considerations we take whenever we want to get away from home made meals, even away from our daily routine. foodie or not, we find dining out to be synonymous to celebrations and more often than not… luxurious, most especially during this economic crunch we are in right now. we cannot factor out the damage involved whenever we try to be fancy and eat out.
where do you usually go for a quick fix meal? what tops your fine dining escapades? where is that joint that simply hits the spot? which restaurant offers the most affordability, food selection and satisfaction all at the same time?
that would be IHOP for us. we have always been fascinated by big serving and wide variety not to mention pocket-friendly breakfast smorgasbord. that sounds so 70’s, haha! speaking of which…atmosphere-wise, IHOP’s interior design is like it has been stuck in that era. that is the only drawback for me. i mean, you can maintain a certain appeal but there is always room for enhancements and improvements, not necessarily modernization. but the negativity ends there. sorry not really ranting from here onwards…
Food. service. price. accessibility. check. check. check.check!:) ironically, we often go to International House Of Pancakes for dinner [and yes, with that free jug of coffee]. Tuesday dinner, to be more precise. why? it’s kids-eat-free day! that makes dining at IHOP so sweet, all the more!
